Our Story

Anne and William first met over Zoom four years ago. Anne was deep into her first solo design project, searching for a contractor who wouldn’t just build, but truly listen. William stood out—thoughtful, experienced, and fully engaged.

That first collaboration laid the groundwork for something lasting. Anne brought a sharp design sensibility and a deep care for detail. William brought steady confidence and a commitment to doing things right—no shortcuts, just clarity and follow-through.

One project turned into eight. Along the way, they built more than homes—they built trust. Their different strengths found rhythm in a shared belief: good design only matters if it’s well built.

Hike Space grew from that belief. A design-build practice rooted in craft, transparency, and respect—for process, for each other, and for the people we serve.

DESIGN

Anne Poon

“Design is more than creating beautiful spaces—it’s a healing process. Whether it’s reshaping a home, crafting custom furniture, or designing jewelry, I see design as a way to bring comfort, joy, and a sense of connection.

Growing up in Hong Kong, surrounded by the energy of a bustling city and the calm of nature, I learned that great design is about balance. That belief led me to the University of Michigan for architecture and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design for my master’s. With 23 years of experience—12 of them designing homes across the Bay Area—I’ve seen how thoughtful design can transform everyday living.

Nature is my constant source of inspiration—especially big trees, with their quiet strength and graceful presence. This love of nature shapes my design approach, where I focus on creating spaces that feel rooted, calming, and alive.”

BUILD

William Fisher

“My path to construction began in an unexpected way—after selling a startup and weathering the Great Recession. Rather than return to the tech world, I partnered with friends to take on small residential development projects— overseeing everything from design and permitting to hands-on construction. It was a revelation: I loved the process of building.

Before that, I worked in the high-pressure world of microprocessor design. I hold degrees in electrical engineering from UT Austin and cellular biology from UMD College Park, which might sound unrelated, but they give me a deep understanding of complex systems—something I bring to every job site. I don’t just see boards and nails; I see integrated systems, problem-solving opportunities, and the potential for smart, enduring craftsmanship.

Today, I bring a blend of technical insight, practical experience, and strong project management to every job. I care deeply about doing things right and building spaces that last.”
